No Comments Cool Stuff

You know Christmas is here when you put your tree up. This year we decided to decorate the office by putting up a digital carousel of quite magical and certainly unique Christmas trees on our reception screen! So sit back, relax and embrace the spirit of Christmas with us!

First up a London tree made entirely of Lego! It’s 32 feet tall and consists of over 600,000 Lego bricks! Amazing!

How about a Christmas tree made of 1,000 bottles of Heineken? Sounds like a dream doesn’t it?

Perhaps ladies would prefer our next next tree, this giant is made of deliciously smooth chocolate! You know you want a piece of it! We do!

This Christmas tree is made out of lights only! It could probably be the brightest tree in the world! What do you think?

Fancy a game of Pacman? Here is an awesome retro tree in Madrid!

A Christmas tree in Sydney made of recycled bikes. It certaily looks cool!

Finally, what a Christmas without a Santa? Well, more the merrier, we think!

Happy Christmas Everyone!

Ambient Marketing

1 Comment Cool Stuff

Street advertising is becoming ever more popular these days with brands looking for new and entertaining ways of reaching out to the consumer. Here we’ve gathered a small collection of quite effective and memorable examples of ambient marketing from around the world.

1. Bin Your Butts! Government calling for a cleaner streets in Australia: “Don’t be a toser, bin your butts.”

2. Message from Amnesty International that shouldn’t be ignored: “Thousands are held prisoners for their beliefs in places worse than this. Write until you free them all”

3. Hellhole in China. ” How many more lives will cost $1.25? Please call 010-62357575 to report manhole cover theft so we can put an end to this.”

4. McFries. Delicious pedestrian crossing in Switzerland by McDonalds.

5. FedEx: Kinko. Best supplies for your office in New York city.

6. ACA-M: Zebra Crossing Memorial in Lisbon, Portugal: “1/4 of car accident victims are pedestrians”

7. South Africa Tourism. Crossing signs around Mumbai, India promoting SA tourism.

8. Bubbles Hair Salon advertising in India.

9. Meister Proper works on any surfaces in Germany.

10. Folgers Coffee for the NYC: “Hey City That Never Sleeps. Wake Up!” Great execution but we certainly don’t want our coffee to smell like the steam from a manhole!

Brand Wars

No Comments Cool Stuff

We’ve heard and seen it all “I am Mac” – “And I’m PC”, “Fairy washes 3 times better than any other washing liquid”, but to what extent are brands prepared to go when trying to go one better than their leading rival? These days TV, radio & print can be a little too predictable. Companies are going beyond traditional means of advertising using Guerrilla marketing to make a point at their competitors’ expense. Here is one we like that Microsoft Windows did when it “marked” a store in Hamburg that Apple were rennovating.

This one by BBDO Duesseldorf, continued FedEx tradition and produced and updated version of the “parcel in the box” ad that came out three years earlier in 2007 but this time going one step further.

Last year Ford did a great “Sales Promotion” campaign in America, where it secretly swapped random people’s cars for the new Taurus model for the week. Surely, other brands weren’t too happy about the final result.
